WindowsExplorer
When Microsoft introduced Windows95, they thought they'd try to make things "easier" by protecting users from seeing file extensions. Well, ever since then, nobody seems to be learning about file extensions, so naturally they get confused when people talk about them. They still exist, you just can't see them! Let's remedy that, shall we? Then you will see the light...
Open Windows Explorer. If you don't know how, this whole exercise might not be for you... But, you can easily get it by going to Start->Run, type in explorer, then click OK. Go to Tools->Folder Options. Then uncheck the option that says "Hide extensions for known file types" OK
Now look around and see all the handy file extensions! .ini, .mcp, .mdb, .zip... it all makes sense now!
